Statement Home, A New Innovative OC Small Business, Partners with Orange County United Way On A Limited Edition Tray Insert

Orange County, CA (December 10, 2020) – Statement Home, a new innovative Orange County-based home decor brand, today announced a new partnership with Orange County United Way. Statement Home, founded by Newport Beach-native Abby Michaelsen, launched earlier this year with the mission to “help you make a statement in your home – no matter the size of your space.” The brand’s first product, the Statement Tray, is an acrylic serving tray. Customers make their statement by choosing from a variety of interchangeable reversible inserts for entertaining and decorating throughout the year. The inserts stack inside the tray for easy storage.

“Statement Home stems from my own difficulties while living in a tiny ‘shoebox’ of an apartment in New York City with limited storage space,” says Michaelsen. “I craved a way to celebrate the seasons and change up the look of my space in a way that expressed my personal style, but I didn’t have the space for all the stuff. That’s where the Statement Tray comes in – it’s an all-in-one solution for entertaining and decorating throughout the year, without all of the clutter.”

Statement Home has partnered with Orange County United Way because of their commitment to Orange County and its residents, ensuring Orange County’s disadvantaged students succeed, struggling families gain financial security and homeless neighbors find a place to call home.

“For years, I’ve been inspired by the work of Orange County United Way,” says Michaelsen. “I was particularly impressed by how quickly the organization reacted to COVID-19 in supporting our community’s needs, helping struggling families find financial security, setting up children from low-income families with remote learning technology, and so much more during this unprecedented time.”

The designs on each side of the limited edition reversible tray insert are an ode to the heritage of Orange County, including a print of an authentic historical postcard of Orange County orange groves on one side and a decorative orange vines print on the other. Customers may choose between three colors of the brand’s acrylic Statement Trays (clear, white, or black) as well as a variety of other interchangeable reversible inserts featuring seasonal and decorative styles, including natural bamboo Charcuterie Inserts which transform the tray into a cheese and charcuterie board.

“Our brand is all about encouraging our customers to make a statement in their homes, and what better way to do that than to dress up your tray with an insert that gives back to the local community while celebrating the heritage of Orange County. With the home now at the center of our lives, the Statement Tray is the perfect way to bring some much needed variety into your space without adding any clutter,” added Michaelsen.

Through the partnership, Orange County United Way and Statement Home will help you make a statement in your home and in your community. Twenty percent of the net proceeds of any order including the insert will go directly towards Orange County United Way’s efforts.

“We are excited to have found a brand as special as Statement Home that encompasses our mission and is willing to aid in driving our efforts forward,” said Susan B. Parks, President and CEO of Orange County United Way.
