Over 1,300 School Supply Kits Donated to Underserved Schools in Orange County!
This year’s United for Student Success School Supply Drive was a huge success! Through the collective efforts of our community-minded partners and individuals, 1,345 Supply Drive Kits were distributed to 25 Title 1 Schools throughout Orange County.
With so many challenges and changes to school life this past year, Orange County United Way wanted to help set students up for success as they started a new school year. In addition to school supplies, the kits also included stuffed animals and encouraging notes to inspire students throughout the year.
Our students shared how much they appreciated reading the notes your volunteers wrote in their boxes. It was amazing for them to receive those encouraging words. They also loved the little stuffed animals/toys included in their boxes. Our supply order was late, so teachers truly appreciated having early access to the donated supplies. – Dr. Guadalupe Girard, Ed. D., Principal, San Juan Elementary School
Together with our incredible volunteers, we provided essential school supplies to local students from underserved school districts where needed.
The main recipients were our students who participate in the after-school program. The program greatly benefitted from the donation of the supplies and backpacks, which really came in handy as enrollment expanded from 40 to 60. The students were excited to receive these supplies so they can complete not only homework, but also other projects that are presented to them in the program. – Jason Shabet, Principal, Clinton Elementary School
A huge thank you to everyone who donated supplies to help ensure our students have the tools they need to succeed! You are #DoingMore4OC and we are grateful for your commitment to improving lives in our community!
