Our e-Mentorship Program helps high school seniors from low-income families and underserved OC communities stay on track and graduate on time. Mentoring from leading local professionals and a robust virtual workshop series teaches students essential life and career skills to position them for success during school and beyond.
PROGRAM SUCCESS
OUR PROGRAM CULTIVATES SUCCESS VIA THREE VITAL COMPONENTS
- Students are paired with a mentor who is a local career professional in a field they are interested in pursuing to receive guidance and support.
- Students complete a comprehensive workshops series, which covers a wide range of topics from applying for financial aid and preparing for life after high school to prioritizing mental health and finding work-life balance.
- Upon completion of the program, students receive a new laptop to bridge the digital divide and set them up for success as they begin the next chapter of their lives.

Nearly 200 seniors completed our e-Mentorship program during the 2022-2023 school year. Of the students who participated:

VOLUNTEER TO BE AN E-MENTOR
Encourage and empower OC students in need by volunteering to be a virtual mentor.
Mentors provide students with the motivation and confidence needed to succeed in school, as well as offer their professional perspective and career guidance regarding the different pathways they can take toward future success.

My mentor, she’s been through what I want to do. She’s experienced; she’s done it. I’m fortunate I can communicate with her when I have questions about college and even other stuff. It’s been eye-opening and I’m forever grateful for the opportunity.
It’s empowering to have someone I can count on and learn from—especially as a first generation student. The e-Mentoring Program helped me to keep going and not give up. Especially during my second semester—there were lots of decisions I had to make about college and money was something I had to consider—it got to me. The program reinforced the idea that I can do it and I should continue forward because my community is cheering me on.
The mentorship I got from this program gave me the ability to have common sense when in situations that require educated skills. If I can keep on concentrating on my work and learning from the mentorship, then I will be headed on the right path to success.
I felt I had a HUGE impact. It took me ten years to understand and develop tools to deal with certain things. I was able to pass on all of that information within a few months, and now Ivan has a 10-year head start, and hopefully, he can pay it forward by mentoring his own student in the future. My goal is to create a constant loop of giving back to those in need.
