Guitar Riffs, Thrilling BMX Aerials Highlight Entertainment Schedule for Walk United 2015

IRVINE, CA – There will be no shortage of entertainment during Walk United 2015, which takes place Sunday, April 19 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.

Robert Castillo’s BMX Freestyle Team of bicycle superstars will perform a thrilling stunt show in the parking lot while local bands Critics Hope and Derailed, along with marching bands and a drumline band, rock the crowd throughout the stadium.

“While the walk in and around Angel Stadium is exciting in and of itself, it’s the bands, the musical and dance performers, and healthy food options that promise to create excitement for an unforgettable experience,” announced Brie Griset Smith, Orange County United Way’s Vice President, Development.

“United Way is pulling out all the stops this year and we’re thrilled to be part of WALK UNITED,” explained Robert Castillo, BMX Freestyle Team President. “Our BMX-Freestyle Team not only offers a great stunt show experience but also provide strong positive messages to help kids make healthy lifestyle choices.”

Participants will have an opportunity to meet the pros, get free autograph cards and to see LIVE BMX action at its best.

“Teaming up with United Way was a natural since they are focused on creating a stronger, healthier community that starts with our children,” continued Castillo.

The annual 5K fundraiser benefiting local children and families has become a “can’t miss” event for thousands of Orange County residents of all ages. Along with the 5 K route and incredible entertainment, the event features gourmet food trucks offering healthy food options, a free Kids’ Zone featuring activities fun for the whole family, and an inspiring Community Village.

The participants are also charged up about doing their part to make a difference in the lives of others in the Orange County community. The Community Village brings the work of United Way and its community partners to light.

The event offers participants the opportunity to walk around and pass by the jumbotrons at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. They’ll also learn about ways they can support United Way’s mission to build a stronger Orange County by focusing on advancing the Building Blocks for a good quality of life: Education, Income, Health and Housing.
