3,500 Free COVID-19 Vaccines Delivered to Underserved Orange County Communities!
Together, with Edwards Lifesciences Foundation and Providence Health, we held 50 pop-up and mobile clinics and successfully delivered 3,500 free COVID-19 vaccines to individuals from underserved communities throughout Orange County!
For many vulnerable OC residents, getting the vaccine was difficult due to the lack of accessibility in addition to their work and family demands.
“Our goal in holding these pop-up clinics was to ensure that the vaccine was conveniently accessible to people across our community, but especially to those in high-need areas,” said Sue Parks, CEO, Orange County United Way. “We want to see all people, especially multi-generational households, protected against this illness so that they can thrive for years to come.”
To encourage participation, each vaccine recipient received a $25 grocery cash card and was entered in an opportunity drawing to win a Disneyland Resort Family Vacation, which includes a hotel stay and six park passes.
We are so grateful to Edwards Lifesciences Foundation and Providence Health for their support. A huge Thank You goes to our school partners for opening their doors to our community. We’d also like to recognize the Garden Grove, Santa Ana, Anaheim Union High, and Centralia Elementary school districts for their leadership. And a special shout out to Disney for providing the prize vacation package.
Together, we are building a safer and healthier Orange County!
