United to End Homelessness℠ is one of Orange County United Way’s key initiatives.

Together, we are building an Orange County where everyone has a safe and affordable place to call home and opportunities to thrive.

We believe that housing solves homelessness at both the countywide and individual level, and that everyone has a role to play in supporting housing solutions for our community.

Orange County's Housing Crisis

The high cost of housing is the major driver of housing insecurity and homelessness, which is why United to End Homelessness is dedicated to improving the systems of care to help prevent homelessness and ensure that people have the access to the care they need to leave homelessness behind.

Through innovative housing navigation programs and services, community education, and advocacy, we are leading the collaborative efforts to produce transformative change.

Housing Navigation and Landlord Incentive Program

WELCOMEHOMEOC^℠

Our housing navigation and landlord incentive program helps individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness secure housing in private market rental units and ensures supportive services are provided to help those who are newly housed stay in their homes for the long-term with the help of a rental assistance voucher.

The WelcomeHomeOC program offers a robust package of benefits and services, reducing barriers and fostering solutions that work for both tenants and landlords.

EXPEDITING THE HOUSING PROCESS

Whatever it Takes^℠

In partnership with CalOptima Health and 45 community-based partners, this program supports CalOptima members experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity by leveraging flexible funding to overcome barriers and expedite a positive resolution to their housing crisis.

Public Awareness & Education

Homelessness 101 Classes

Through our Homelessness 101 classes, we bring accurate information, local data, and compelling stories together to help inform and empower people to get involved in solving homelessness in their community. These sessions are a great way to understand more about what is happening locally and how you can be part of the solution!

Public Awareness & Education

Community Engagement

We engage in broad public awareness activities through social media, speaking engagements, and other public educational opportunities, like Community Chat webinars where we host conversations with local and national experts about trends affecting Orange County and how we can support solutions to homelessness.

Housing Advocacy

HOUSING CHAMPIONS ADVOCACY NETWORK

The Housing Champions Advocacy Network empowers local residents to use their voice to get involved in their communities and advocate for solutions to end homelessness. Our Housing Champions have been connected with efforts to expand affordable housing opportunities, lend a voice of support for housing and shelter options, and to bring awareness to needs in cities across Orange County.
