It can shape a family’s financial stability\, increase the risk of homelessness\, and increase the need for essential community services. \nWith two housing-related measures on California’s November ballot\, join Orange County United Way for a virtual Lunch & Learn exploring Propositions 1 and 37 and what they could mean for Orange County. \nProposition 1 would authorize $11.25 billion in bonds to support affordable housing\, homeownership assistance\, Veterans’ housing\, and permanent housing for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Proposition 37 would establish a down-payment assistance program for eligible Californians purchasing newly built homes. \nYou’ll hear from Orange County United Way leaders who will bring perspectives from across the organization’s work in homelessness\, financial security\, and essential community services: Becks Heyhoe-Khalil\, Executive Director of United to End Homelessness; Taylor Montano\, Executive Director of United for Financial Security; and Elizabeth Andrade\, Executive Director of 2-1-1 Orange County. \nDuring this conversation\, you’ll: \n\nGet a clear overview of what Propositions 1 and 37 propose\n\n\nExplore how the measures could affect housing and affordability\n\n\nHear how housing affordability intersects with homelessness\, financial security\, and access to essential services in Orange County
