Orange County United Way Journey to 100
What can end homelessness in Orange County?

What can end homelessness in Orange County?

Answer: Homes

That’s right. When an individual or family has a home, it changes their lives.

WelcomeHomeOC℠, Orange County United Way’s housing navigation program, has helped end homelessness for more than 1,000 neighbors, including Veterans, families, older adults, and young adults. Like Seth, who got his first apartment with United Way’s help. With a safe place to live, he’s working at a hospital and pursuing his dream of becoming a registered nurse anesthetist.

I’m not living on the streets or out of a car. I have a stable place to feed myself, do my homework, and make sure I’m clean. It’s my own little safe haven. I’m happy to have it.

—Seth, former foster youth and WelcomeHomeOC Housing Navigation Program Beneficiary
