United Way’s Alexis de Tocqueville Society brings together leaders like us who have the desire and capacity to influence and drive lasting change.

Each year, Orange County United Way honors several members of its Tocqueville Society, a distinguished group of individuals recognized for their outstanding philanthropic efforts in the community.

This year’s Alexis de Tocqueville Society Event Hosts were Nella Webster O’Grady, last year’s Philanthropist of the Year, and her husband Kevin O’Grady. Their beautiful home was the centerpiece for a gathering of extraordinary philanthropists as they joined in to celebrate their accomplishments for the year.

The Philanthropist of the Year Award was presented to Suzanne Fradette, Alexis de Tocqueville Society Member and volunteer extraordinaire.  This award recognizes an individual with an exceptional broad base of contributions to United Way.

Idit and Moti Ferder, owners of Lugano Diamonds are longtime sponsors and supporters of United Way (pictured with Donna Schroeder). Lugano generously donated a beautiful necklace to present to the Philanthropist of the Year. The Ferders are true gems in our community.

Chris Johnston of Ernst & Young accepted the Outstanding Alexis de Tocqueville Society Corporate Partner award. Their employees offer a tremendous commitment to United Way’s mission by actively participating in community service and they have 21 Alexis de Tocqueville donors this year.

We are grateful to all our Alexis de Tocqueville Society members who show their passion by contributing time, talent and financial resources to help transform Orange County.
