Funds will support United Way’s work to break barriers and improve lives for underserved and at risk communities in Orange County
Irvine, CA (September 15, 2022) – At Orange County United Way’s ‘Rally for Change’ Corporate Social Responsibility Celebration yesterday, Ingram Micro presented a $750,000 check to Orange County United Way in support of the organization’s mission of improving lives in Orange County.
“We are incredibly thankful to our valued partner Ingram Micro for their generous donation. With these funds, we will be able to continue delivering long-term solutions to complex issues and go the extra mile to care for our Orange County neighbors,” said Susan B. Parks, President and CEO of Orange County United Way. “Their generosity is testament to the true power of our community and transformational corporate partnerships. We are stronger and have a greater impact when we work together.”
The funds donated by Ingram Micro will be critical in helping create a better Orange County where all students succeed, struggling families have an opportunity to gain financial security and homeless neighbors find a place to call home.
Last month, Ingram Micro and Orange County United Way also launched the eco-friendly ‘Closing the Digital Divide’ effort. Orange County companies have an opportunity to help residents in need by donating used technology devices. Ingram Micro donated 100 laptop computers and 400 refurbished, high-quality smart phones and accessories to kickstart the effort and help others to “realize the promise of technology.”
“Ingram Micro and Orange County United Way are aligned in many ways, including our strong desire to give back to the community and continuously make it better for those who live here,” said Todd Zegers, Global Vice President, ITAD and Reverse Logistics, Ingram Micro and United for Financial Security Leadership Council Chair. “We are thrilled to dedicate these funds that will help make a long and lasting difference for those who are in need of support and resources the most.”
