Irvine, CA. (January 13, 2025) – Orange County United Way today announced the appointment of Agnes McGlone Swanson as the organization’s new Senior Vice President of Community Relations.

Parks, President and CEO of Orange County United Way. “She is the ideal person to amplify the impact of our work and efforts to better the lives of those who live in Orange County. We are thrilled to welcome her to the team and look forward to the lasting contributions she will make.”
With more than 35 years of experience with various local and national nonprofit health organizations, McGlone Swanson will lead corporate engagement, events, volunteer efforts, and other development functions for Orange County United Way. She will serve as a critical member of the Executive Team.
In 1989, McGlone Swanson secured her first role as a development professional working for Orange County United Way as a Sponsored Loaned Executive, giving her expertise and energy to assist in Workplace Campaign efforts. She then joined the American Heart Association (AHA), where she worked for over 27 years. During her tenure at the AHA, McGlone Swanson held several roles including Senior Vice President, Executive Director, Senior Account Manager of Corporate Relations, and served as the organization’s first Staff Recruiter.
Prior to joining Orange County United Way, McGlone Swanson most recently served as the first Chief Philanthropy Officer at The Shea Center for Therapeutic Riding in San Juan Capistrano. During her six years at The Shea Center, she substantially increased major gift and grant funding to support their mission of improving the lives of people with disabilities through therapeutic horse-relation programs. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from California State University, Fullerton.
