Thanks to more than 3,000 registered walkers, WALK UNITED 2014 brought together the top companies from throughout the county as well as individuals, families and friends in support of our efforts to advance Education, Income, Health and Housing. The sixth annual WALK UNITED event, held on June 29 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, was the most successful to-date, surpassing the goal of raising more than $250,000 for Orange County residents in need. We’d like to extend a special thanks to our corporate sponsors for providing invaluable support to enable us to make this a great experience for everyone who participated. Corporate partner Fluor won 50 Angels tickets for their support as the top fundraising team, while Presenting Sponsor Wells Fargo won the corporate challenge award for uniting more than 400 of their Orange County employees to come WALK UNITED. Men, women and children walked to improve lives while enjoying great music from three bands, healthy options from food trucks and exploring stations around United Way’s community impact work, focused on taking steps to FACE 2024—our 10-year action plan to strengthen Orange County.
