Grant supports efforts to address pressing local community needs and increase access to education, financial stability resources, and supportive services.
Irvine, CA — (October 22, 2026) — Orange County United Way announced today that it has received $100,000 from the KPMG U.S. Foundation. The grant will support the organization’s mission to create a stronger, more resilient Orange County by addressing the most challenging human needs through collaboration, advocacy, and strategic programming.
“We are grateful for the generous support from KPMG U.S. Foundation towards advancing United Way’s vision for an Orange County united to improve lives today and for generations to come,” said Susan B. Parks, President and CEO of Orange County United Way. “Through this grant and the longstanding partnership with the local Orange County KPMG team, which includes hundreds of volunteer hours and a notable employee giving campaign each year, we truly appreciate KPMG’s commitment to uplifting our community.”
The grant will bolster Orange County United Way’s efforts to connect more people to enhanced programs and services. This includes advancing 2-1-1 Orange County’s efforts in building a connected network of nonprofits and public agencies to ensure residents are matched with the social services they need. It will also support programming focused on helping students stay on track in school and prepare for college and careers, giving families the resources to build financial stability, and connecting individuals experiencing homelessness with pathways to safe, stable housing. Together, these efforts help more Orange County residents find opportunity, overcome challenges, and build a more secure future.
“Communities thrive when opportunity, stability, and support are within reach for everyone,” said Kevin Manson, Managing Director, KPMG U.S. “I’ve seen firsthand the impact United Way has made across Orange County, and this grant will help connect children and families with educational opportunities, essential services, and pathways to greater economic security.”
KPMG’s local support of Orange County United Way spans more than 25 years and was recognized with the nonprofit’s 2025 Volunteer Excellence Award in honor of its strong and consistent volunteer engagement. KPMG employees dedicate hundreds of volunteer hours annually towards a host of community programs including mock interviews, e-Mentoring, in-classroom reading, fitness days, holiday food box distribution and SparkJoy gift giving, in addition to leadership support of the Alexis de Tocqueville Society and the Corporate Cabinet.
“One of the things I value most about Orange County United Way is its ability to bring together businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders around a shared purpose,” said Mark Clemens, Orange County Office Managing Partner, KPMG U.S. “United Way’s accountability to its mission, together with the strength of those partnerships, helps strengthen our community and create lasting impact across the region.”
The KPMG U.S. Foundation awarded the grant as part of its broader investment in nonprofit organizations that are helping communities thrive across the country. This fall, the Foundation is providing nearly $2 million in funding to organizations serving local communities in eight cities across the United States, helping support stronger, healthier, and more vibrant communities.
